Jean has been writing and contributing new concept ideas for Frederic Thomas for more than 12 years. She has worked in the publishing industry for more than thirty years. Her career began at Golden Books where she advanced from an associate editor to manager of creative services. While at Golden Books, Jean created hundreds of coloring books and activity products for industry leaders Disney, Warner Brothers, Mattel, Fisher-Price and others.
As a freelance writer and editor, she specializes in authoring Christian books for adults and children, as well as writing educational textbook and testing materials and creating mass market coloring and activity books.
"Freelance writing allows me to work on projects in many different genres," Jean says. "My diverse background in publishing makes it easy for me to zero in on what my clients want and to meet their specific needs."
Jean graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee with a degree in elementary education, and went on to earn a master's degree in children's literature. Jean grew up in Wisconsin near the western shore of Lake Michigan. She enjoys the Wisconsin woodlands, bird watching and other wildlife. She is also an accomplished gardener.
Favorite books from her childhood include: The Bobbsey Twins series, Pippi Longstocking and anything written by Beverly Cleary.
