Patricia Castelo

Patricia was born in Santiago de Compostela, a little town in northern Spain. Since she was young, she always had a special relationship with painting. Eventually her love of painting inspired her to abandon the university she was attending, even though she was about to complete her degree in medicine. She then turned her full attention to pursuing a career in illustration.

After working for several animation studios, focusing on color design and concept art, she has established herself as a successful freelance illustrator. Patricia makes books for children and young adults, as well as book covers and posters. When she's not working, she likes to spend time with her partner, Marcos, who is also an illustrator. They live surrounded by comics, art books, films and children's books — so it is impossible to stop learning!
